Yard Signs, Banners and Window Signs in Paramus

Paramus sign rules changed in October 2026

If you run a business on Route 4 or Route 17, read this part first. On October 6, 2026, the borough adopted a new sign ordinance for its highway commercial zones. According to TAPinto Paramus, it bans banners, streamers, pennants, flags, balloons and other wind devices on signs, and it limits A-frame signs to 4 square feet, out only while you are open and at least 10 feet from the right-of-way. News 12 covered the same changes.

That has a practical effect on what to order. A lot of shops reach for a big vinyl banner for a sale. In the Paramus highway zones, that is the one thing you should skip. Here is what still works:

• Window graphics. A print applied to your store window is the easiest way to announce a sale or new hours. Our 24 x 36 inch window graphic is $43.50.
• A small sidewalk sign. Keep it to 4 square feet or less. Our 24 x 36 inch A-frame insert is 6 square feet, which is over the Paramus limit, so please do not order it for a Paramus sidewalk. An 18 x 24 inch sign is 3 square feet; if you have a smaller frame, text us its size and we will quote a custom-size insert.
• Permanent window lettering. Store hours, phone number and website in cut vinyl last for years. Our store hours package is $79.00.

We are a print shop, not a zoning office, and we have not read every line of the new ordinance. Call the Paramus zoning office before you put anything outside, and tell us the size they give you. We will make the sign to fit.

Grand openings in Paramus

A new business can still get a banner, but it needs a permit and the rules are specific. The borough's grand opening permit application allows one banner, 2 feet by 12 feet, on the front wall of the building. It can only say the business name and "Grand Opening," in no more than four colors, and it stays up for 14 days. The same permit covers two bunting flags (four on a corner unit) and balloons for one day.

A 2 x 12 foot banner is not one of the standard sizes in our designer, so ask for it through our quote form and we will price it. Keep the design simple: your logo or name in large letters, "Grand Opening" and nothing else, since the permit does not allow sale prices or phone numbers on it.

Signs for Paramus homes, schools and teams

Most of what we make for Paramus families goes on a front lawn: graduation signs, birthday and welcome-home signs, senior night signs for Paramus High School athletes, and signs for garage sales and lost pets. Put them on your own lawn, not on utility poles or in the strip between the sidewalk and the street, and take them down when the event is over.

Prices are per sign, before New Jersey sales tax (signs are taxable, clothing is not). Yard signs include an H-stake, and you can choose two-sided printing or grommets for a fence in the designer, and you see the total before you pay.

How ordering works

You design the sign online in our sign designer. Pick a size, start from a template or upload your own artwork, type your text, and you will see the price change as you go. Standard turnaround is 5 to 7 business days after your 50% deposit. If you need it sooner, rush is 3 business days for 25% more.

Because we are in Paramus, you do not need to pay for shipping. Pickup is contactless on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11am to 3pm, and you book a pickup time once the order is ready. If you would rather have it delivered, shipping starts at $14.99 for up to two signs.
