Our youth league guide is written for coaches and team parents. This one is for the grown-ups: the softball team that has played Tuesday nights for ten years, the new flag football team that needs a name, the men's league hockey team, the kickball and pickleball and bowling crews. Adult teams have different problems. Nobody wants to chase twelve adults for sizes, sponsors are often a local bar or business, and the budget is whatever the captain can collect.
What adult teams usually order
| League | Typical order | Shirt we would start with |
|---|---|---|
| Softball and baseball | Tee with front team name, back name and number, matching hats | Team 365 TT11 performance tee |
| Flag football and soccer | Two colors (home and away) or one tee plus pinnies from the league | TT11 or Badger 4120 |
| Hockey (men's and co-ed leagues) | Team hoodies and warm-up shirts for the locker room and bench | Gildan 18500 hoodie |
| Bowling, darts, trivia, kickball | Fun names, big back designs, cotton tees | Gildan 5000 |
| Running and cycling clubs | Light performance tees and long sleeves | Gildan 42000 or TT11 |
A note on what we do not make: full-print sublimated jerseys and real game hockey sweaters. We print on tees, long sleeves, hoodies, shorts and jackets and embroider hats. For most rec leagues, a printed performance tee with a number is all the league asks for, but check your league rules on numbers and colors before you order.
Performance or cotton?
- Performance polyester (TT11, Badger 4120, Gildan 42000) wicks sweat, dries fast and does not get heavy in July. It is the right call for softball, soccer and flag football.
- Cotton (Gildan 5000) is softer, cheaper and better for indoor or casual leagues. It also becomes the shirt people wear on weekends, which is nice if a sponsor is on the back.
Prices as of November 2026

|---|---|---|---|
| Gildan 5000 cotton tee | $28.50 | $27.00 | $24.00 |

| Gildan 42000 performance tee | $34.00 | $32.50 | $29.50 |
| Badger 4120 B-Core performance tee | $36.50 | $35.00 | $32.00 |

A whole league buying together is where bigger quantity prices come in. If several teams want the same shirt, send us the league plan before anyone orders and we will tell you how to set it up and what each team pays. Embroidered team hats start at 6 pieces; a Richardson 112 trucker is $21.00 each for 12.
No sales tax on the shirts: New Jersey exempts clothing and lists athletic uniforms among exempt items in its clothing and footwear guidance. A sponsor banner for the fence is a sign, so it is taxed at the 6.625% NJ rate.
Names, numbers and sponsors
- Names and numbers: since every transfer is printed individually, each back can be different. Put the roster in a sheet with the name exactly as it should print, number and size.
- Number size: about 8 to 10 inches tall on the back of an adult shirt reads well from the stands. Front numbers, if your league requires them, are usually 4 inches.
- Sponsor logos: one sponsor fits nicely under the number or across the upper back. More than four logos starts to look cluttered; consider a small sponsor block or a sleeve print ($3.00 extra per location).
- Duplicate numbers: check the roster for two players with the same number before you submit. It happens on every team.
Getting sizes from adults
- Make a shared sheet with name, number and size, and set a deadline a week out.
- Post the size chart from the product page so nobody guesses. Performance tees fit trimmer than cotton.
- Collect money before you order. The deposit is 50% of the order, paid online.
- Add one or two extra shirts in L and XL for the player who joins in week three.
Timing for the season
Printed shirts are ready 7 to 10 business days after the deposit is paid and the mockup is approved, or 5 business days with rush for 25% more. Embroidered hats take 10 to 15. If opening night is on a Tuesday, count back at least two full weeks from it to the day you send the order. If you are already late, our fast custom shirts guide explains what is realistic.
Pickup is contactless at our front door in Paramus on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday from 11 to 3, which is close to most North Jersey fields and rinks. You can book a pickup time or have the box shipped.
Need a fence banner too?
Many teams add a 3x6 banner with the team name and sponsors. A 3x6 vinyl banner with hems and grommets is $50.50, and you can design it in our sign designer.
End-of-season and championship shirts
Win the league? A championship shirt is one of the most fun orders we make, and it is quick to plan if you prepare a little:
- Make the design before the final with a blank spot for the year, then finalize after the game.
- Keep the roster sheet from the start of the season so sizes are already known.
- Pick a different color from the game shirts so they do not look like uniforms.
- Add the league name, the season and the team record on the back.
Subs, coaches and fans
Adult teams often forget the people around the roster. A league sub who plays six games deserves a shirt, and a matching hoodie for the coach or manager looks sharp on the bench. Partners, kids and friends who come every week often want a fan shirt with the team name and no number. Add those to the same order so everything matches and the quantity price is better for everyone.
Suit up the team
Start in the designer with your team name and a number, or send us the roster and logo and we will reply with a proof and a price.
