Custom Vinyl Banners for Bergen County Shops, Teams and Events

Outdoor vinyl banners in four sizes, designed online with live prices. Hemmed edges and brass grommets every 2 feet come on every banner. Here is what each size costs, which one fits your fence or storefront, and how to hang it so it lasts the season.

Banner sizes and prices

All four sizes are 13 oz matte scrim vinyl, printed in full color on one side, with hemmed edges and brass grommets every 2 feet included. These prices are live from our sign designer. Click a size to start a design.

SizeGood for1 bannerEach at 5Each at 10
2 x 4 ftInside a shop window, a table front, a porch railing$30.50$20.50$19.00
3 x 6 ftStorefronts, grand openings, team fences$54.00$40.50$39.00
2 x 8 ftOver a door or along an awning, a long sale message$50.00$36.50$35.00
4 x 8 ftField fences, building sides, read from across a lot$82.50$68.50$67.00

Sign orders have a $35.00 minimum, so a single 2 x 4 ft banner is usually paired with a second banner or a few yard signs. Ordering 5 or more of the same size lowers the price of each one, which helps leagues that hang the same sponsor banner at several fields.

Picking a size you can read

A common sign rule of thumb is about 1 inch of letter height for every 10 feet someone will read it from (Signs.com). A few examples:

  • Across a parking lot or from a car on Route 4 or Route 17. At 100 feet or more you want main lettering around 10 inches tall, which really only fits on a 4 x 8 ft banner, with one short line.
  • From the sidewalk or across a small street. At 30 to 50 feet, 3 to 5 inch lettering works, so a 3 x 6 ft banner has room for a headline plus a date or phone number.
  • From the stands or along a field fence. Parents read a team or sponsor banner from 20 to 60 feet away. A 3 x 6 or 4 x 8 ft banner holds a team name plus several sponsor names.
  • Inside a window. People walking by are a few feet away, so a 2 x 4 ft banner reads fine with a longer message.

Fewer words almost always do better. A headline, one line of detail and a phone number or website is plenty for most banners.

Templates to start from

Each of these opens in the sign designer on the right banner size. Change the words, colors and logo, and the price stays on screen as you go.

Wind slits and pole pockets

Every banner comes with hemmed edges and grommets every 2 feet. Two options are available in the designer:

  • Wind slits. Small half-moon cuts that let wind pass through. Worth it on any fence or open railing. They add $7.00 to a 2 x 4, $15.00 to a 3 x 6, $13.00 to a 2 x 8 and $26.00 to a 4 x 8 ft banner.
  • Pole pockets. Sewn sleeves at the top and bottom instead of grommets, for a pole, a frame or a banner stand. They add $30.00 to a 2 x 4, $36.00 to a 3 x 6, and $43.00 to a 2 x 8 or a 4 x 8 ft banner.

How to hang a banner

We do not install banners, but hanging one is a short job with the right ties:

  • Chain-link fence. Use a zip tie or ball bungee through every grommet, not just the corners. Pull the top tight first, then the bottom, so it does not sag in the middle. Add wind slits if it faces open ground.
  • Brick or siding. Use hooks or screws that suit the wall, through the grommets, and keep it snug but not stretched so the grommets do not tear in a storm.
  • Porch or deck railing. Bungees work well and come off easily after the party.
  • Inside a window. Use clear hooks or tape tabs at the top grommets. Indoor banners do not need wind slits.
  • Taking it down. Wipe it clean, let it dry, and roll it printed side out. Do not fold it, and it will be ready for next season.

Before you hang a banner on a storefront or put one up near the road, check your town's sign rules. Most Bergen County towns limit temporary business banners by size or number of days. Our town pages for Paramus, Hackensack, Ridgewood, Fair Lawn and Teaneck cover the local rules we found, with links to each ordinance.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much is a custom vinyl banner?

A 2 x 4 ft banner is $30.50, a 3 x 6 ft is $54.00, a 2 x 8 ft is $50.00 and a 4 x 8 ft is $82.50, each with hems and grommets every 2 feet included. The price per banner drops at 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 of the same size. Sign orders have a $35.00 minimum.

How long does a banner take?

Banners are ready 7 to 10 business days after you order. They are printed by our sign partner, and banners do not have a rush option, so order early for an event date. For Small Business Saturday on November 28, order by Friday, November 13.

Should I get wind slits?

For a banner on a chain-link fence or anywhere open to wind, yes. Wind slits are small cut flaps that let air through, so the banner pulls less on the grommets. They add $15.00 to a 3 x 6 ft banner. On a wall or inside a window, you do not need them.

What is the difference between grommets and pole pockets?

Grommets are metal rings in the hemmed edge for zip ties, bungees or rope, and they are included. Pole pockets are sewn sleeves at the top and bottom for a pole or a banner stand, and they replace the grommets. Pole pockets add $36.00 to a 3 x 6 ft banner.

Do you hang the banner for us?

No. We do not offer installation. Every banner comes ready to hang with grommets every 2 feet, and the steps below cover zip ties and bungees for fences, walls and railings.
